Program Notes
The name “Mosaik” originates in its structure. By treating many rhythmic shards in differ- ent ways a coherent image was created. The combination of a mathematical and aesthetic approach resulted in an artwork similar to a mosaic. The two contrasting groups; percussion and others merge throughout the piece until a unity of tonal color has been reached.
